Supriya Sule 


Supriya Sule, born on June 30, 1969, is an Indian politician and a prominent figure in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). She hails from a political family, being the daughter of Sharad Pawar, a veteran leader in Indian politics. Sule completed her education in Mumbai, earning a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from the University of Mumbai and a Master's degree in Regional Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture.



Entering politics, Sule quickly rose through the ranks of the NCP due to her sharp intellect and dedication. In 2004, she contested her first Lok Sabha election from the Baramati constituency in Maharashtra and emerged victorious.   • On 5 Feb 2015, she was appointed as a Member of Committee on Empowerment of Women.
2014
  • On 1 Sep. 2014, she became a member of Standing Committee on External Affairs, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Finance & Corporate Affairs and Indian Parliamentary Group Executive Committee for the Year 2014 - 2015. On 11 Dec 2014, she became a member of Joint Committee on Offices of Profit.
2014
  • Sule retained her seat for a second term in the 16th Lok Sabha elections by defeating Mahadev Jagannath Jankar of RSP by a margin of 69,719 votes.
2009
  • She was elected in the 15th Lok Sabha from Baramati in Maharashtra where she defeated Kanta Jaysing Nalawade of BJP by a margin of 3,36,831 votes.
2006
  • Sule was elected as the member of Rajya Sabha.
